How to read DAT file recorded with PVR-800 on PC or on other player?
The DAT files are MPEG2 video files format and MP2 (MPEG-1 Layer 2) for the audio part (for the XP quality mode). On your PC, if DAT files are not associated with your media player, you can just rename the file extension to “.MPG” (better) or “.MPEG”. “.MPG” file will be read on other player or on PVR-800. Please note: under Windows, it’s possible you can’t really rename correctly the file extension because Windows hides some files extensions. In this case, if you try to add the extension “.MPG”, the file will stay in “.DAT” format. To workaround this, you have to: – Open the Windows file explorer – Open the menu “Tools\Folders options…
