How to prepare for a Pony Club (D-2) Rating?
Your rating should all be held in one day so there is no need for several outfits. You are not judged at all on what you wear during the knowledge testing phase, which will be pretty short at the D-2 level. Also, at D-2 it might be done within your club so the raters will probably already know you. For the riding part, always have an intelligent answer for each section where it says “discuss performance with examiner”. Tell them what went well, and what could have been better and why. For the knowledge part, try to add some details so you answer a bit more than they ask for. For instance in D-2 nutrition it says “Know the basic rules for feeding and explain the feeding schedule for own pony”. If you look over to the D-3 standard, it adds “discuss the amount of roughage and amount of concentrates per ration for own pony”.
