1. Plug the FireWire drive into any available FireWire port. 2. The system should detect the drive and install a device driver for it. To verify the drive is properly detected, right click on the “My Computer” icon either on your desktop or in the Start Menu. From the popup menu that appears, click Properties. The System Properties dialog will appear. Click the Hardware tab then click on the Device Manager button. The Device Manager dialog will appear.
