1. Boot up your computer with the FireWire hard drive turned on and connected. 2. From the Start\Programs menu select “MS DOS Prompt”. The MS DOS Windows will now appear. From command prompt type “fdisk” and hit the enter key. 3. When asked to enable Large Disk support press “Y”. 4. The Microsoft Fixed Disk Utility will open. Choose option 5 “Change current fixed disk drive” then hit the Enter key. 5. Now select your FireWire drive from the list. Your main internal hard drive will be Disk 1. If you have only one hard drive in your computer then drive 2 will be your FireWire drive. If you are not sure which drive is your FireWire drive you should contact the manufacture of the drive for further instructions.
