How to poison coyotes?
Not exactly poison but effective. This was relayed to me by a Game and Fish officer. Take several cheap sponges and cut them into one inch squares. Soak them in beef bouillon and lay them out to dry. Place them in an area frequented by coyotes. The coyotes will eat the dry sponges and then they will swell in their stomach to the point the coyotes cannot pass them.
Let’s see… Besides rat poison or any kind of poison, I know that chocolate, particularly bitter chocolate, can be toxic to dogs, and coyotes are pretty related to them, so it might work. Grapes and raisins can be toxic to dogs too, as well as mushrooms, onions and coffee. One particularly weird way to put down almost any living thing is stuffing a very small battery (say a wristwatch battery) into a piece of meat (or watever else the thing will eat). Anyway I’d only use poisoning as a last resource, of course, but I also understand that animals can really be a problem to people and that valuable as it’s life can be (that of the coyote, that is) the lives of chicken are also valuable. And besides, there is a PERSON’S well-being involved here. I for one would choose a human’s well-being over an animal’s any day, that’s for sure. Another usefull and non-lethal way of attacking the problem (it has lowered the volume of a few dogs in my neighbourhood, sure enough, and it well might scare
