How to play moonlight sonata?

I don’t have the music in front of me, but I’m pretty sure it’s written in 12/8 time (twelve eighth notes in a measure) so it is counted like ONE-two-three TWO-two-three THREE-two-three FOUR-two three (each word is assigned to an eighth note). It is written in C# minor (although it is quite easy to find arrangements in easier keys at pretty much any music store). The left hand plays either two C#s or G#s an octave apart, while the right hand plays the familiar pattern in the third inversion of just C#minor (bottom to top it goes G#, C#, E and repeats). From there it is kinda easy to figure it out by listening and experimenting, but doing it that way would take loads of patience and would take a long time. It’s fairly easy to find easy arrangements of it, and from there you can embellish it. Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions and I would love to help! (I am a piano teacher). This is a wonderful piece and is great to play, so have fun learning it!
