How to perform a low-level format using an Adaptec AAA or ARO SCSI RAID controller?
A disk drive can be low-level formatted from the Adaptec SCSISelect Utility. 1. Press Ctrl + A when prompted during system boot to enter the Adaptec RAID Configuration Utility. 2. Highlight “Disk Utilities” and press enter. 3. Using the arrow keys, highlight the drive to be formatted and press enter. 4. Select format from the drop down menu. Note: Do not interrupt the low-level format. Interrupting the low-level format can potentially damage drives.
