how to password protect the shared folder in Windows XP?

0

If you have XP Home edition, it cannot be done. For XP Pro, folder can be password protected using the security properties for the folder (right-click on folder, select “Sharing and Security”, Select “Make This Folder Private”. The folder is only made private for the the logged on user. If you only have one user account, making it private is not really effective. It prevents outside access for sure, but no privacy from users of your computer. To make your computer more secure, create user accounts for all users of the computer and password protect your account.
