To paint your garage door, you should first wash it down to clear off any debris. You should allow the door to dry for at least 48 hours. You will need to fill in any crack with caulk, and allow it to dry according to the instructions. After that is finished, you should apply a good exterior primer coat. You may wish to apply two primer coats. You will allow it to dry then follow it by your coat of pain.
