How to overcome extreme exercise fatigue when doing leg exercises (particularly hamstrings)?
I’m the same way, but I think that’s because I also use my legs alot (do 60 minutes of cycling on a recumbant stationary bike – about 18 mph five days a week.) Then when I go to do my leg workouts I’m way too sore in my legs at the end of the week (feel all wobbly and whatnot.) I know hammies usually tire out quicker, but you just have to keep at em. Never neglect your legs, no matter what you do… a good leg workout before your upper body workout seems to improve your gains for some reason. Just kind of deal with the soreness and eventually it’ll stop being so bad.
What causes fatigue during strength training? … LACTIC ACID! It is the same stuff that makes you feel fatigued and sometime naucious when you are running or jogging. When lactic acid comes out of nowhere and causes fatigue, you have hit your lactic acid threshold, AKA the point at which there is more LA in your body than it can handle, hense why you get tired out. The only way to deal with it is to work out at a high intensity so that a lot of LA builds up, and try to go as long as you can… I reccomend doing this while running or jogging… the reason why is that over time yovr body will adapt to this intensity and the amount of LA in your system and find better ways to deal with the LA…. This is what many marathon runners do… they “push up” there lactic acid threshold so that they can run at a certain intensity without feeling the effacts of LA and being fatigued…. good luck!!!!
