How to obtain a Malaysian driving license?
If you are planning to stay in Malaysia for more than two years, it is most recommended to Transfer your Driving License. The procedure depends first on the country of origin of your driving license. If you have a British, American or South African license for example, you will have to submit your application in JPJ in Putrajaya. It will take from two weeks to one month to obtain the approval and then only you can proceed to the transfer in JPJ Wangsa Maju. For other nationalities, you can go straight to Wangsa Maju but you have to make sure that your driving license is in English otherwise, you need to obtain a translation from your Embassy.
