How to mount Samba Shares from Windows 2003?
Linux Box: Fedora Core 2, Samba 3.0.6, No Firewall at all Win Box: Win2K3 Server Enterprise, running AD Task: to mount a share on the samba server, from the Windows Server. How the heck can I do this? I enabled the “Allow unsigned communications from 3rd party SMB servers” option in group policy, disabled the require encrypted communications & digital encryption of secure channel data, then rebooted the server. I also added enableplaintextpassword=1 in the lanmanworkstation parameters of the registry. After all of that, I still get this error when trying to mount a share: C:\Program Files\Support Tools>net use p: \\wall\root System error 1240 has occurred. The account is not authorized to log in from this station. Please help! I can’t start a migration to 2 Linux FileServers (replacing 6 Windows 2000 Servers) if I can’t mount a share from the Win2K3 box.
