How to motivate myself in doing exercise…?

Switch up what you do or where you do it. If you run and you run the same route day after day, you likely will get bored. Make a new route, listen to music when you run/workout. If you do aerobics, have various workouts you can choose from so you don’t get bored with the same one. If you are doing the same thing for exercise all the time, your body will get used to it anyway and it will become less effective. For exercise I switch up what I do regularly. I do aerobics, yoga, kickboxing, and muscle toning with videos and DVDs. I also walk/jog, trikke, and every few months or so get a new DVD workout or program. I just began P90X last week (intense!). It’s easy to get bored so have variety in what you do and how/where you do it. That helps a lot!

Hi there. I have been in the same position various times. I found that sticking a dvd that you like on in the background can be useful, an action dvd is best. I find in particular Rocky or G.I.Jane to be effective and motivational. Music works the same way too. If you like you could set up a playlist beforehand of music that will pick you up and make you want to work out. Depending on what genre you prefer such as Rock, Metal, Pop, Dance etc. Also depending on the environment you are working out in or the order of your routine. Move things around or change the order of your exercise to keep working out a fresh and positive thing instead of monotonous.

Vary the exercise you do and mix short intense sessions with longer less intense ones. Also perhaps try doing classes you enjoy, then the other people help to make it easier too.
