How to mentor a child who has been severely abused?

0

When I was younger I had a mentor who helped me through a lot of my personal problems. Go out of your way to let them know the positives about themselves.. Because after this has happened, they must have low self esteems. Mainly just show them that you’re there for them. Ask if they need help with simple tasks like homework or if they need a ride anywhere… That should get them to trust you and warm up to you. Call them often just to see how they’re doing just as if you’re one of their friends. With time a bond will grow, and the more time that passes, the more you’ll be able to help them through their problems. It’s really amazing that you want to help these girls, and I just know you’ll do a good job! I wish you and the girls the best of luck at their recovery of the abuse they went through.
