How to Make Paint Stick to Cement, Galvanized Steel, Aluminum and Glass
It’s not easy to get paint to stick to cement, galvanized steel and other slick surfaces, but there is a trick that you can use to get the job done. What You Do: Scrub the surface that you wish to paint with white vinegar, and allow it to dry. Then, paint as usual. Why This Works: The acetic acid in vinegar removes any dirt or oils present on the surface of the object, so that the paint sticks to the object (and not that other gunk). Benefits of Using Vinegar: • cheaper than specialty washes and paints • no harsh chemicals or fumes • won’t harm the surface that you’re painting Tips and Warnings: 1) Use this trick to make paint stick to cement, galvanized steel, aluminum, glass and other slick surfaces 2)Store vinegar out of the reach of kids and pets
