If your parrot is healthy otherwise, allow him to eat what he prefers. Animals and birds, unless they are unhealthy or depressed, know what’s right for them. So, probably he is eating less because he is able to meet his calorific requirement. However, if you think something is amiss, and your parrot is not his previous self and is irritable, he might be feeling lonely. Consider spending more time with him, give him some toys to keep him engaged, and don’t let him feel neglected. You can also make a gruel from chickpea flour, millet flour, etc, and feed your parrot using droppers. If this doesn’t help, you can get a mate for him or consult a vet. If you are generous enough, you can even let your lovely parrot fly away. Chances are, if he has forgotten how to fend for himself, he will return to you. One of the parrots in my family did.
