How to make chocolate icing out of plain/white icing sugar. Not frosting.?
I don’t know what chocolate icing sugar is. To make chocolate icing I just put butter in a bowl and let it get a little soft, I add confectioner’s sugar or powdered sugar and cocoa like for hot chocolate and a touch of vanilla or almond extract and beat it. You may have to add a touch of milk . . . The more butter the richer and too much milk makes it not rich enough. Look up the proportions on the internet, I just throw stuff in a bowl.
you can make a boiled icing, its usually used on 10 and 12 layer cakes. In a saucepan, add the following 2/3 cup coco 3 cups sugar 1/8 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups milk or evaporated milk stir well, over medium heat bring to a boil, stir constantly until thick and bubbly, cook to about 220 degrees, remove from heat add two tablespoons butter and 2 teaspoons vanilla, mix with electric beaters until smooth and glossy, frost cake while icing is hot.
