How to Make Ceramic Tiles
Knead and condition your clay, then using a rolling pin, roll the clay to the desired thickness, usually 1/4″-1/2″. Using a 4″ or 6″ square template (found at craft stores), cut out your tile shapes and press in or etch any pattern you may want on the tiles. Let dry slowly to a leather-hard state, then gently buff off any irregularities. Your tiles then need to be bisque fired by someone who has a kiln. After the bisque firing, glaze the tile in the color of your choice and then fire again.
