How To Make Biodegradable Plastics?

As mentioned in the Spanish answer here, you can make homemade biodegradable plastic using corn starch, corn oil, and water. Another technique is to use milk and vinegar, but I’ll be describing the corn starch method. This is for small amounts. You can adjust to larger sizes when you’re comfortable with the process.1. Put 1 Tbsp. Corn Starch, a couple drops of corn oil into a Ziploc bag.2. Pour 1 Tbsp. Water into the bag and kneed the bag to mix up the contents.3. Close the Ziploc bag, but LEAVE AN OPENING so it doesn’t explode.4. Put it in the microwave for 20-25 SECONDS.5. Carefully remove, let it cool, and form it into your shape.6. Over time, it will harden as the water evaporates. This is close to the same process companies use to make biodegradable bags. Of course, you can cook on the stove as well with a double-boiler.
