How to make a nice easy soup?
Basic soups are easy. Use good stock (not bouillon cubes). Potatoes, carrots, onion and meat are good basics, you could always add a bit of Rotini for extra. Celery would be a good addition. To turn your basic soup into a stew, make a roux. Add the roux to your soup at boiling, reduce heat and continue to stir until thickened. Good spices to add to traditional beef soup/stew: Basil/Garlic/Dill/Oregano/Parsley. Change your bacon with chicken for chicken! Spices: Garlic/Thyme/Sage/Basil/Oregano/Cumin. Mind you, don’t add all of those spices, or you’ll most likely confuse the flavour you’re trying to achieve. A couple would be good.
