How to know if my site presents a soil or groundwater contamination?
In order to know if a contamination is present below your site, SGS proposes you to carry out a soil and Groundwater Study, possibly preceded by a Historical Study. This study aims at performing a few borings, in the most suspected areas, as well as installing piezometers (small diameter wells). Some samples will be taken and analyzed in our laboratories. Thanks to the comparison of analyses results with local or regional standards, defined by the appropriate authorities, we can check if the soil or groundwater must be considered as contaminated. SGS can assist you during the whole process.
