How to juke?
To perform a successful juke, you have to cut deeper than you suspect… Most ball carriers “think” their juke is a 45 degree change in position and they get slammed… A good juke takes a strong plant, while lifting the opposite leg high and opening deep as though you’ll cut deeper than 90 degrees… then leaning back into your run and accepting wherever your new charge takes you… Try to remember that the defender is already attacking at an angle of 30 to 45 degrees…a good juke either brings you back deeper and against the grain…or it simply stalls you long enough to slip the tackle and continue on. In any case, it’s about planting the outside foot and attempting to change direction deep…
