How to Install a Ceiling Fan
If you have decided to install a ceiling fan, hopefully the location is already occupied by a working light fixture. If not, a hole will need to be cut in the ceiling. This hole needs to be smaller than the base cover of the fan. You will need to have access to the attic and no fear of small dark places or bugs. Wear clothing that will protect your skin from insulation in the attic. You will need some knowledge of electrical wiring because you will be wiring the fan into the homes electrical system and into at least one light switch. The ‘hidden’ wiring for the fan will need to be run down between the walls to reach the light switch you choose. And you really need to purchase a HowTo book before beginning!
