How to insert a cross-reference?
In all versions of Word, you insert a cross-reference using the Cross-reference dialog. How you get there depends on the version: • In Word 2007 and 2010: Display the References tab. In the Captions group, click on the Cross-reference button. • In Word 2002 and 2003: On the Insert menu, choose Reference, then Cross-reference • In Word 2000 and earlier: On the Insert menu, choose Cross-reference Figure 1.
