How to import a used motorcycle from USA to India?
you willl not be able to import vingtage motorcycle in india from USA. The import rules say that the motorcycle can not be imported unless it is imported by a person who has stayed for more than 180 days abroad,i.e. he should be coming back on “transfer of residence”(generally called as TR),the bike should not be more than 2 years old. So “vintgage status” is out of question. Even if it is brought with manipulation in papers for the date of manufacturing, FORGET that you can get through customs as there is bank of specialists in customs now who can handover the details of the bike to you by scanning the chassis number–right upto the paint scheme, make of tyre,country to which it was exported etc. as they have access to the manufacturers’ database.I suggest you keep this thaught away as there are so many “importers” in Bombay who will tell all the **** and bull stories about how many bikes they have imported against the TR, and when the time comes to face the music from the Customs or
