How to help a homeless person with mental problems?
I know that there are places that people can stay but you wouldn’t have to pay for her. As long as she’s a citizen, I’m pretty sure she can get help or enroll in a free program. I don’t know about the laws pertaining to you, specifically, helping her out, but there are programs that are run for people with problems such as hers.
YOU CANNOT HELP HER, sorry, I know you really want to, but it is nearly impossible for anyone NOT RELATED to get someone mental health. There are very sticky and stupid LAWS protecting people from other people putting them in mental wards. Even the police will not do anything to help these people. You can TRY and contact maybe a Battered Women’s Shelter and ASK what if anything they know of you can do – and I hope they can guide you – but from my experience, NOBODY wants to deal with mental cases.
