How to handle a Chilean Rose Hair tarantula? ?

When I had one, to hold it I would simply lay my hand flat in front of it, and gently push its bottom, encouraging it to walk forward and onto my hand. They are called pet rocks because its completely normal for them to just sit still all day and be boring. lol. Mine never flicked hairs at me, so I worry yours may be more aggressive than mine, or I guess you could have made it feel threatened in some way. Until you know your tarantula better I suggest some thick leather gloves as protection. Mine never seemed to mind being shoved around from behind though, and I would even pet it. If it raises its front legs at you, back off.
