Yeah, you can. First of all, when i took my driving test, they never ask me anything about who owe the car (my dad’s car). So i don’t know why they’re concerning about a rented car. Anyway, it’s fine to use your friend’s car as long he/she give you the insurance on that day just in case if they need to do paperwork. Good luck with the test.
