A buzz cut is a cut where all the hair on your head is cut to same length. It’s the easiest cut you can do by yourself. For the guard here is a Little chart that might help you choose the length you want: 1 = 2.4 mm 1A = 3.0 mm 3/8 inch 2 = 6 mm 1/4 inch 3 = 9 mm 3/8 inch 4 = 12 mm 1/2 inch Also if you want to go no guard it will leave about 0.5 mm (1/16Th of an inch) of hair on your head. for the lever it depends on the brand of clippers you have.
