How to get rid of springtails in carpeting and mattresses?

Baking Soda kills fleas…I imagine it will also kill springtails. Strip your bed of all bedding. Wash the bedding in the hottest water possible along with OxiClean. Dry thoroughly in the dryer. Sprinkle baking soda on your carpeting and bare mattress. Spread the baking soda around well using a broom. Allow to sit 48 hours. After you vacuum up the baking soda, remove your vacuum bag and seal it in a Freezer Ziplock bag. Put that in the freezer for at least 24 hours. (Then throw it away.) For your mattress, I would flip it immediately after treatment, and repeat the baking soda procedure on that side, too. Repeat the whole procedure after 1 week. Baking soda is absolutely non-toxic and, unlike most bug killers, baking soda will not harm children or pets. As for where you can sleep while the baking soda is on your mattress, maybe you could sleep on the couch during “Springtail Treatment Nights”.
