I tore my gracilis in cheerleading doing a toe touch. I felt a crack the whole way down my leg. I could barely walk, let alone even think about doing leaps in dance that night hah. I didn’t go to the doctor, but I really probably should have hah. I guess I didn’t want a doctor looking at my butt. But I practiced splits every day. You won’t be able to go the whole way down, and it will hurt, but just try to stretch it as far as you can without severe pain, and hold it there. It took four months hah, but I’ve gotten my right and left leg splits back. Just go a little at a time, and it will come back. In cheerleading we practice heel stretches with partners, and I noticed that it hurts when my partner lets my leg down, so if you do heel stretches, bring your leg down slowly.
