(I feel they helped me when I was struggling with a bad latch and trying to avoid nipple confusion.) – See a lactation consultant, preferably an IBCLC. Hands-on help is the best thing you can have when you’re having latch problems. – Do LOTS and LOTS of skin-to-skin contact. The smell of your skin and milk, and the soothing sounds of your heartbeat and breathing may encourage your baby to relax and latch on. – If you must bottlefeed, try to make the bottle-feeding experience as much like breastfeeding as possible. Unbutton your shirt, snuggle your baby close to your bare chest, and tickle her lips with the bottle nipple until she opens wide.
