How to find out if a job qualifies for H1B visa?
Please see the above answer. To qualify for H1B visa, the job should be a “specialty occupation,” meaning one that normally requires a US Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent. Generally, IT jobs such as Computer Programmer, Software Engineer, etc. qualify as specialty occupation. The additional evidence, if asked for by USCIS, can include a detailed job description demonstrating how it is specialized enough to require a BS, proof that the Employer normally requires a degree for the particular position (with copies of degrees and pay records of other similarly situated employees), evidence of industry standard that can include printouts of other companies’ ads for similar jobs, etc. Occupation Outlook Handbook (OOH) is a good reference point.
