How to Enter Foreign Currency Bank Account Transactions?
Our small company has accounts in 5 currencies. We have income and expenses in each. All we want to do is enter transactions as we would in a bank account in our home currency (CAD). Using the “edit transaction” button as required, it says I can make a deposit, but when I try to make a payment it says “You have no payments to deposit.” And it advises I must 1st receive a payment or enter a sales receipt. It also says I can’t make a negative deposit (= a “payment” if you will). We do not use QB for invoicing or sales receipts or anything beyond entering acct transactions. All we want to do is use our QB foreign currencies bank accts as ledgers for entering income and expenses and be able to see the values and balances in reports and the chart of accts in the foreign and home currency. Our foreign accts are all set up correctly and I have the rate of exchange functions down pat so that is a non-issue. So how the heck do we enter transactions in a foreign currency bank acct ??? HELP!
