How to encourage a toddler to eat?
The amazing thing about young children is that they are so intuned to their body that they know exactly how much of what they should eat (most of the time). She probably doesn’t need the same amount of calories as she’s been needing and simply wants to eat light. Let her, but don’t let her be the one telling you what and when she’s eating. That only leads to a baby that thinks she’s head honcho. I would cut out snacks completely until her appitite picks up, that way she isn’t full throughout the day and she can actually sit down to a nice healthy meal. My son has always been a light eater, so I never give him snacks. If I did, he’d never eat his dinner. Offer carbs and fruits for breakfast. They fill the tummy, give a boost of energy to start the day, and burn off rather quickly, that way she’ll definately be hungry for lunch.
