The above bits are expensive but will do the job. A drill press on a slow speed no more then 1000-1500 with oil drip is needed to keep bits cool. You can also aneal the metal by heating up the area to be drilled witha tourch. You need to heat it red hot and let cool. The metal will then drill easy. This may apply or may not depending on what you are using the spring steel for. You can use a hand drill but this is a hard haul. clamp it in a vise if it is a small piece of metal. If not good luck you need a steady hand and a strong arm. Bits can be obtained on line or in local hardware stores.
