1. Get a photo of a zebra (I like the site www.sxc.hu but only copy the photos to learn, not to sell. If you are going to sell the drawing copy, ask permission and most photographers won’t mind.) 2. Draw the outlines of all the zebra bodies. (You could in theory skip this step if you only want to know how to do the pattern, not draw a real zebra, but I think it’s good practice.) 3. Draw the outlines of all the zebra’s dark stripes. 4. Fill in the strip outlines with the corresponding amount of shading (you’d be surprised how much grayish the strips can be in some places.
