How to differentiate bicarbonate of soda and baking soda?

They are almost the same, accept they add cornstarch to the baking powder. Baking soda is a slightly whiter colour than baking powder and tastes a bit saltier. Also in texture the baking soda is a bit on the lighter side, almost fluffier so to speak! To test them you can put a little into a glass, and add a couple drops of vinegar. The baking soda will fizz up a lot more than the baking powder.
