How to cook wild boar?
Wild boar is the exact same as domestic pig, as far as cooking it goes. You must cook it thoroughly, and there is a risk of trichinosis if it is left undercooked. It is also every bit as delicious as domestic pig. For large cuts of meat, I prefer the Hawaiian method: 1- Get a lot of charcoal really hot. You want red glowing embers. 2- Dig a pit about 3-4 feet deep. 3- Place the hot embers in the pit, and then cover with tuffa rocks. 4- Place the meat on the rocks, and then cover with palm fronds. This method takes hours, but produces the best pork you have ever had. As an added bonus, it is a lot of work, so you invite friends over and drink beer while digging the pit and heating the embers. Then you drink more beer while you are waiting for the meat to cook. Then you all have a great time eating the slow cooked masterpiece. Good times.
