How to cook lentils?
Lentils are high in protein and delicious! To cook them you will need one cup of dried lentils, an onion, garlic and 1 1/2 cups of water or stock. Put your water or stock in a pot over medium high heat and add the lentils when the water boils. Add onion, garlic and even fresh herbs to taste. Boil on high heat, three to five minutes then reduce your heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes longer. Toward the end of cooking you will need to check the lentils to make sure they don’t overcook. Different lentils have different cooking times. Don’t mix more than one type together in one pot. Enjoy!
