How to cook chicken in the oven.?
Clean and season your chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder. If using cut up chicken, place in a baking dish, drizzle some olive oil on top, or cut slices of butter or margarine, place a slice on top of each piece. Squeeze a little lemon juice on top. If you are baking a whole chicken pull out the bag, and stick your hand inside and pull out any membranes, or fat, or blood, while rinsing under running water. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel. Rub olive oil, butter or margarine over the whole chicken, then season inside and outside with the seasonings. Cut a small onion in half, add 2 garlic cloves, celery tops, if you have some herbs, like thyme, or sage, use them along with 2 lemon slices. Put all of this inside the cavity of the chicken. Place a tent of foil over the top. Bake on 350-375, depending on how hot your oven gets for about 45 mins.
