Fractions and percents are both ways of saying how much of a whole something is. There are a few different ways to think about this or translate between fractions and percents. One way is to convert the fraction into another fraction with 100 as the denominator (the bottom number). So, for example, if you start with 1/4 (a quarter). You can multiply both the top and the bottom of a fraction by the same number, and it’s value is the same. So, 1/4 is equal to 25/100.
