How to Connect a Serial Device (scanner, scales, etc….)?
A bidirectional serial device (scanner, scales, etc.) can be connected to either AUX1 or AUX2. 1 – Receiving Data sent by the serial device Data sent by the serial device is put into the AX3000 keyboard buffer in order to emulate keyboard data entry. As the AS/400 uses an EBCDIC character set and most serial devices use an ASCII character set, the EBCDIC to ASCII converter has to be enabled within the Axel terminal.
