How to clean a stinky straw cowboy hat?
My husband has this “favorite” straw cowboy hat that he wears all of the time. He has other hats but this is the one he wears to work in out with the cows and stuff. The problem is it’s developed a hideous odor! I’ve tried everything from brushing it down, airing it out, literally drowning it in baking soda and letting it set for hours, febreeze, lysol and finally just a good old fashioned soap and water scrubbing in the sink – hey it was ruined anyway! So even after all of that it still smell – I think it’s just a combination of sweat and dirt etc. Oh and yes I did clean under the sweat band. So before my big cowboy baby breaks down in tears does anyone have any last suggestions? Greatly appreciated!
