How to change the computers friendly name?
The computer’s friendly name is the name that is displayed in the OsaSync options window next to the actual computer name. The friendly name is used in the sharing feature. The first OsaSync menu item Sharing shows your configured computers with there friendly names. If a contact, appointment or task is shared then OsaSync adds the category Shared with friendlyname to the item’s categories. If you change the friendly name then these categories are NOT changed automatically so you will have to share all items again and remove the Share with old friendlyname category manually! So if you use the sharing feature (which most people don’t because they sync the entire folder) then think twice before you change the friendly name!
