How to Change or Disable Startup Check Disk Timeout Value in Windows 7?
Startup Check Disk Timeout is the value that lets you to decide whether to skip the checking the disk operation when the Windows starts. This takes place if you have either scheduled the Check Disk operation or if your system was shutdown abruptly. By default you get 10 seconds to take the decision. How ever you can change this timeout value via registry hack. You can accomplish this in the following way: 1) Open Registry Editor and expand the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager in the left pane Figure 1 2) Right click on the right pane and select New option and then select DWORD (32-bit) Value option as shown above 3) Name it as AutoChkTimeOut and double click it Figure 2 4) Select the Decimal dot and type the time in seconds. For example if you want the timeout to be 15 seconds then type 15. The maximum value for this is 3 days, i.e. 259,200 seconds.
