How to change oil in automatic gearbox on isuzu trooper?
Paul changing the transmission fluid on your trooper is fairly easy but you need to be ready for about half a days work. Put the car into neutral with the hand break on, try to get it onto a level surface. Next get under the engine and look for the gear box drain plug, you will need a 5ltr bucket to catch all the oil. Clean around the drain plug before you remove it, then unscrew the plug. Let all the fluid drain out of the gear box, my advice would be to replace the gearbox transmission filter at the same time as you drain the oil. To do this you may need to remove the suspension cross member, use a trolley jack to lower it out after you have loosened the bolts holding it in place. Then remove all the bolts that hold the sump in place, remove the sump and then you will see the filter. You may have to remove the transmission cooling pipes that run from the gear box to the radiator. To refit the parts do everything in reverse.
