how to celebrate passover
You have the date wrong. Jewish days start at sundown, and Passover begins on the evening of 8 April. Really, I don’t think it’s possible to begin describing how Jews celebrate Passover, because it’s not just an event for a few hours. As far as diet goes, we have absolutely no chametz – mostly but not only flour of any sort or in any form – and begin clearing the house NOW to make sure there is nothing left in any corner. There are rituals around this. Then on the first night of Passover, we have a seder, a ritual meal. This is far too complex to begin explaining – suffice it to say that it tells, in dramatic fashion, the story of the Exodus. And the festival lasts for eight days (seven in Israel).
