How to Carve Pumpkins?
Start by cutting up at the top where the stem is. Cut in a circular motion around the stem with a flexible knife. You can find knives especially for pumpkin carving around Halloween at most stores, but others will do the trick as long as you are careful. Once you have opened up the head of the pumpkin, begin dissection of the interior. Use a large cooking spoon to scrape off all the stringy guts. When the inside is clear of debris, you can start your face. The easiest way is to draw your desired facial features on the exterior of the pumpkin prior to starting, this way you have a line to follow. Again, us a flexible knife to carve the face, making sure to cut all the way through. The facial features will fall directly into the pumpkin, and you will be done! Good luck and have fun!
