How to care for supposively torn navel piercing?

Soak it in warm sea salt water. Mix 1 cup of warm water with 1/8 teaspoon of SEA salt. Put it in a little cup or a paper towel or whatever and soak the piercing with it. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes and do this once a day. When you’re done rinse it with water to get any salt off. DON’T use alcohol or peroxide on it because they are too harsh. I’m not sure what your piercer told you for aftercare but don’t turn the jewelry, don’t even touch it. You can probably change the jewelry in a few months, but have the piercer do it. It takes navel piercings up to 6 months to a year to fully heal. Be gentle with it. Oh and if the jewelry’s too tight, that’s a big problem. It should have been pierced with a long enough barbell to accomodate for swelling.
